The Bravery

October 4, 2010

Waking up early on the weekends has some benefits.

There’s just the right amount of cloud cover for perfect photo opportunities. There are few people up and about so scouting for this location was relatively painless. I did come across a couple of joggers and bike riders, but they were busy doing their own thing to bother with my tripod and me.

Being photographer-less makes me less willing to take outdoor photos, but since it was such a great day I had to test it out.

It’s way more exhilarating than taking photos in the same ol’ corner.

Outfit Details: J.Crew ruffle tunic – XXS, GapKids skinny jeans – 12R, Madewell sweatshirt jacket – XS, Forever 21 biker boots

I really like those boots!! I’m still a little too shy to try the outdoor shots… big kudos to you for stepping outside your comfort zone :)

I love this!!! You look so fierce but the ruffle layered top makes it feminine.

Oh gawd, you know when you are hopelessly so into fashion when you recognize a piece immediately! I was like, “that ruffle top is got to be from JCrew” before I even read it. LOL!

You make that sweatshirt so glamorous! I really like how you paired it with the skinny jeans and rocker boots!

LOL. I’m like that too with certain items, I can spot where it’s from right away. =)

What a gorgeous spot! I love outdoor lighting but am too chicken to set up a tripod outside just yet… maybe someday… :)

I am really loving the slouchiness of the sweater jacket on you. It’s a look I am hesitant to try. because I am afraid I’ll lose whatever illusion of femininity I have present. And kudos for you for taking pictures outdoors with a tripod…I am still holed up in my closet with my mirror and poor lighting.

Thanks! I don’t think you can lose your femininity with this style. It’s definitely more boyish looking, but certain colors, fabrics, or details can make it look more feminine. Just experiment and test it out. If it doesn’t work, at least you know for sure! =)

Lol! You are brave taking pics in public with a tripod! I am glad you did…beautiful background. I love red brick! It reminds me of the pictures Jean posts.

You wear those biker boots so well! Great sweater!

I tried to keep my Gap kids jeans because they look so nice on you, but ended up returning them because something about the hips and thighs and elastic waist sides didn’t sit right on me. Ah, I see you’ve also discovered the benefits of taking photos early on weekend morning : ) I wake up at 6:30 because I hate pesky neighbors watching!

Yea I agree, waking up early makes for great photo ops. I like my GapKids jeans…it doesn’t bunch up weird on me like the H&M ones do. I guess to each their own for kids jeans. =P

Hi Stylepint! I love your pose in the 2nd photo! So cute! I hope you’ll be doing more of these photoshoots? On a side, I like your blog layout! The side bar with the little symbols looks nice, and I love the simplicity of the whole thing.
