My blog has recently been taken over by LA Fashion Week photos…and that was just Day One!
I’ve learned a lot being a volunteer and I had the opportunity to talk to several artists, designers, and staff who make these shows possible. There’s so much work that goes into it that I didn’t even realize. It all looks amazing when it’s on the runway, but backstage, it can range from calm and orderly to complete chaos. I guess that’s the life of a creative…it’s one big rollercoaster that they’re riding though as best as possible.
There was a wide variety of styles in the various presentations and runway shows. There’s something for everyone with new designers and seasoned professionals using the same space. I liked being backstage since I could view the clothes up close and personal. Sometimes, the details don’t show up in a photo and there is nothing like seeing it in person.
My favorite designer of the weekend was Fremont and I wanted everything in their collection. Floaty fabrics, lush suede jackets, and chunky wedges…it was like a dream. Of course, a close second was MILA from Project Runway Season 7. She’s super down to earth with great designs, even the models were enjoying themselves wearing her clothes.
It’s an unforgettable experience and I’ll be posting a couple more photos. I hope you don’t get bored of them!
