LAFW: Adolfo Sanchez Presentation

October 24, 2010

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Adolfo Sanchez‘s presentation at Little Tokyo’s Hold Up Art.

Pop art and detailed illustrations lined the walls of the art space and provided an interesting contrast to the beautiful clothes. With a DJ spinning tunes and a pop-up boutique, the show provided a quick glimpse into the mind of Adolfo Sanchez.

The Spring/Summer 2011 collection named “2080″ is edgy and futuristic keeping a strong, independent woman in mind. With a play on geometrical shapes and a neutral color palette, the collection features cassette tape accessories and urban ready-to-wear outfits.

Similarly, the cocktail dresses had subtle hexagon prints with a clever mix of sheer and leather materials. The evening gown shown above was beautifully crafted sending an elegant nod to the Golden Age of Hollywood.

In addition to the apparel, Adolfo Sanchez is expanding his brand with a home decor line. Metallic throw pillows provide a pop of interest to the simple leather chair which enhances the appeal of any common living space.

With a sophisticated clothing line and an emerging home decor collection, it would be interesting to see where Adolfo Sanchez goes next.  I can’t wait to see more from this young designer!

Since it was a fashion event, who else would I take but Elaine? She looks amazing in her 70′s inspired outfit and you can read more about it in her post.

I seriously gasped when I went to his website and saw the first picture in the Spring 2010 line. I’m surprised to see leather, I would totally buy the lace and leather ruffle number and the sleek long sleeve leather dress (if I had all the money in the world) and sneak these babies for the fall!
