A Brisk Autumn Day

October 26, 2010

I love it when the weather cools down enough to start wearing my heavier coats.

I got this awesome plaid coat from Jack by Dakota Collective and it’s been sitting in my closet since summer. So, when temperature cooled from a break between rainstorms, I had to pull it out. It fits so well that I didn’t have to alter it except shorten the sleeves. Finally, I have a great winter coat!

Plus, I had major boot envy from Cher of a.fashion.deliberation that I got my own set of sweet boots. At last count, there were still a couple of size 5.5 and 6s available if you want to snag a pair!

Outfit Details: Jack by Dakota Collective coat – XS, Stella McCartney for GapKids cardigan – M, Forever 21 tank – S, Madewell jeggings – S, Madewell necklace, BCBGeneration “Pony” boots

Purple paid coat and the brown boots look really cute together! Geeze the weather over here can’t seem to make up its mind. Supposed to be 80 today and tomorrow!

Those boots are super cute on you and I’m anxious to wear a pair that I bought at the beginning of the year too once the weather cools down. I’ve also been looking around for jeggings and really like the ones you have on. I’ve never looked into Madewell but I will definitely have to check them out now!

I love my jeggings though they’re more like leggings in jean material. You should definitely check it out! =)

Oh I’m loving this look! I’ve been seeing a lot of plaid jackets online but was hesitant, but I love this subtle pattern on you!

I am loving your jacket. It fits you quite well. Surprisingly the weather in Ohio is getting warmer for the last few days. I can’t wait to start wearing my jackets again

Love the coat! I was very into plaids two winters ago, then I got over the novelty. I actually recently donated an oversized plaid shirt I bought and now I regret it! I think I’m going to dip into plaids again!

Oooh! I love that coat!!…and your hairstyle!….and that outfit! I don’t just like the coat because it’s plaid, I also really like the versatile colors in it. It will definiitely add to your winter outfits and you didn’t have to have the sleeves hemmed!! (always a fan of saving money by not having to tailor ;)

Thanks! I’m totally in love with this jacket and I happened to come across by chance. It’s great that I don’t have to do anything crazy to it. It’a always tough to find longer coats that fit well.

Your new hairdo suits you! Love that jacket on you – does it fit well when buttoned/zipped?

It fits pretty close to the body, and with a chunky sweater underneath, it’s a tad tight. But other than that, it’s just what I like when it’s buttoned.

Now I wonder if all Jack by BB Dakota coats run small! This is very promising indeed if they do, because their prices aren’t unreasonable at all for a winter coat!

Forgot to ask you, how much did it cost you to have the sleeves taken up?

I hope Jack by BB Dakota sizes all run small cuz that would be a great find and I prefer their price points to other brands. As for the sleeves, I did it myself with some needle and thread. It’s pretty simple but at the tailors, it shouldn’t cost more than $20 to take it up.
