Fashion Los Angeles: Meet the Public

November 16, 2010

I mentioned yesterday that I went to the Meet the Public event.

It was hosted by Fashion Los Angeles to display art, design, and fashion all in one location. It was a pretty sweet setup with different items ranging from home decor to sculptures to clothing.

Penelope and Coco is a brand based on Marisa Spinella’s two personalities (Penelope: vintage and glamor / Coco: eccentric and edgy). The mix of oxfords and combat boots is an unmistakable signature and the metal details are quite striking.

The statement jewelry of Nana Bijou is right up my alley. The glam necklaces and subtle bohemian style pendants had pops of color and multi-stranded chains that make this line very eye-catching.

Chelsea Rebelle had the scene-stealing dresses of the night. The bold dresses not only have an exaggerated silhouette, it also had unexpected fabric choices and textures. The whimsical collection is filled with prints, patterns, and bright colors.

Although Meet the Public is over, you can still check out these designers online.
