On Cahuenga Blvd lies Space 15 Twenty, a retail art space containing Urban Outfitters, Unami Burger, and What Goes Around Comes Around.
This weekend, Mondette and L.A. Vintage Exchange invited several local designers to showcase their wares in the normally vacant thoroughfare between stores at Space 15 Twenty. Designers stood by their booths displaying their creative lines showcasing their artistic perspective and work. The atmosphere was comfortable and homey with the designers friendly and receiving.

Out of the items presented at this “open market,” Jen E. and Ritzy P. of Supreme Goods stand out in that they are the only designers with a home accessories line including small plates, vases, and miscellaneous containers (jewelry boxes).

The two form a dynamic duo where Jen creates the clay bases to their products while Ritzy paints the finishing details and designs onto their ceramic creations (above photo). The sleek ceramics are embellished with whimsical and pop art prints that are rarely seen in ceramics and give another sense of style and fashion to accessory items.

Gabriela Artigas, in her profile states that the world itself is her creative wellspring. She allows the mediums she uses to communicate between themselves in a playful artistic dialogue. She enjoys asymmetrical and contrasting motifs.

Gabriela Artigas also designs men’s and women’s accessories like the tie clips shown above. Her designs offer a unique and fashionable addition to the men’s tie creating a conversational piece even for the typical male.

Sweet Sirens, an online boutique, features nautical-themed accessories and vintage inspired pieces. Sara, the owner, is standing by her collection filled with depictions of Alice in Wonderland, Frida Kahlo, and accessories inspired by the sea life.
Marlowe + Wren, located at T Salon on Melrose for the holidays, is an eclectic boutique for lingerie, home decor, children’s toys, and accessories. They feature lingerie from companies such as The Little Bra Company and Eberjey. In the next few months, they will be expanding to include an in-house brand lounge-wear.

The designs gave an air of sophistication and luxury appeasing to the visual senses.

The Traveler’s Bookcase is a cozy store with everything you could possibly need in terms of travel and accessories. The staff are well-traveled and love to swap stories of their oversea adventures. The Traveler’s Bookcase is a definite inspiration to leave your boundaries and expand the horizons.

Jenny Dayco, a jewelry artist, designs anything from small delicate pendants to her more popular bold statement pieces. In less than five years since her first collection, her jewelry has become a favorite among stylists and is worn by celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Paris Hilton. In speaking with Miss Dayco, she touches upon the idea that jewelry is universal. Regardless of whether you are petite or full-figured, jewelry will always be a necessity.

Looks like fun! I really like those tie clips…really interesting little outfit additions.
They are quite a unique design and I’ve never seen anything like them! =)
Totally forgot this was going on! Great coverage of the event, and the rest of your blog is great too! Glad to Space 15 Twenty throwing more events that support independent and upcoming local talent.
Thanks! It’s awesome that Space 15 Twenty hosts these events. I love being able to speak to the designers and build a relationship with them. =)
Wow it seems like a fun event. I love visiting places like these but have not gone in so long.
those tie clips are gorgeous! not to mention those ties they’re being displayed on… i keep trying to look for the perfect skinny tie to try out one of your menswear looks with.
do you have any suggestions for where to look?
This looks like so much fun!
wow, so many great items! how cool that you were able to meet Jenny Dayco. i’m a big fan of her creations!
@Nelah: I enjoy the smaller events like these because the people are so kind and helpful. Plus, they’re really knowledgeable about their products so you know when and how it’s made.
@Katrina: The ties and the clips both drew me to Gabriela’s booth at first. H&M and little boy’s stores would be great places to look for cheap and fun ties! =)
@Callandra: Thanks! It was lovely to spend time with such a welcoming group of designers and artists.
@Kileen: I agree, there were so many wonderful accessories and items! Jenny Dayco is really friendly and her items are so pretty! =)
