Just a Taste

January 30, 2011

For the past two weeks, San Francisco hosted its Dine About Town restaurant week and my family rushed to take advantage of the deal. We tried three different restaurants that I’ve never been before.

We are a family of foodies.

One of the restaurants we visited was the historic Cliff House for lunch. Located on the seaside, this place boasts a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.

And I couldn’t agree more! The Cliff House is also one of the best wedding destinations with its scenic landscape, sleek architecture, and two delicious restaurants.

On the first level of the building, there is The Bistro, which features casual dining while Sutro’s has a more formal atmosphere with lofted ceilings and panoramic window views.

At Sutro’s, the seafood dishes are fresh, flavorful, and look so pretty. We really lucked out with clear skies that day since SF weather is quite temperamental and the city is usually shrouded in fog. The view itself is totally worth the trip!

If you’re ever in the mood for a seaside escape in San Francisco, check out the Cliff House.

Now that is an awesome restaurant to have a slamming view of the beach and a classy atmosphere. I wish the restaurants over at the coastal Carolinas were like this!

@Amanda: LOL! The mussels taste as good as they look! =)

@PetiteLittleGirl: You should definitely check it out when you’re in SF.

@Banhannas: I love scenic landscapes and this place was ideal! I’m sure the Carolinas are beautiful…wish I could visit on day!

@Ping: I agree, the Beach Chalet is ok, but I think the food at the Cliff House tastes better.

@Michelle: Me too! New restaurants, especially cool local ones are awesome finds and worth the trouble to explore! =)

I tried Sutro’s for dinner a while back and The Bistro for brunch. DELICIOUS! But the best part is definitely the view. So amazing!

Oh wow – what a beautiful view! I sooo wish we lived in a larger metro area with good food choices. I have family in San Jose and I remember all the great dining in CA with incredible fondness :)

@Petite Mom: I agree, both places are solid choices when it comes to food and the view is spectacular!

@SewPetiteGal: Being in the Bay Area does make me a bit spoiled when eating out, but cooking some homemade entrees are quite satisfying too!

@Really Petite: I agree…it’s one of my favorite dishes! =)
