I don’t wear a lot of accessories, but I own a lot of pieces and if I store them away, I’ll never wear it because I won’t remember where I put it.
Instead, I leave the items I wear on a regular basis out on display. Not only does it make it easier to find my pieces, it doubles as decor.

I picked up this figure model from Ikea and I’ve actually used in my art classes to improve my drawing and proportions. Since I no longer draw, I’ve given it new function as a bracelet holder.

This jewelry tree was a present from my aunt. It’s from Urban Outfitters and I love how it has all these little nooks and crannies to hang my earrings. I wish it was in a darker color so the jewelry stands out more but it works just fine.

This little sliver of my accessories collection is the best part of my room. I don’t know how people manage to have such pristine places where everything looks so perfect and sleek. I always wonder if they actually live in those places since it’s so clean and almost sterile.
When it comes to my room, I’m kind of messy…you can see signs of life in my room (not mold!) from the mounds of paper, books, and random things covering up the shelves, desk, and floor. I want to escape all this clutter but at the same time it’s comforting to have so much stuff around. LOL. I suppose I’m a pack-rat at heart and that’s one more thing I need to wrestle with before it takes over my life.
How do your organize your accessories and how do you keep it neat and tidy?

i love your accessories display! your earring collection is so gorgeous and classy!
i’ve been trying to figure out a way to organize and display all my stuff but it’s currently sitting in a big pile on my dresser….in a plastic box…all tangled. sigh. my goal is to fashion something out of a corkboard, and tacks, so i can hang all my necklaces.
Wow, these photos are gorgeous, Jess. Thank you for sharing, you have some beautiful pieces.
I keep my belts over a hanger and jewelry in one of those trays with little compartments. Nothing fancy but works for practical me.
I think you did a fab job in organizing your accessories. I wouldn’t have been able to tell your room was messy looking at these photos. Everything is all organized and coordinated. I LOVE jewelry trees. Your aunt has good taste.
Here’s to pack racks! I’m just the same, if not worse. I think my room would and is messier than your room. I think the exact same way when I see other people’s rooms; so clean and organized like it’s not lived in. Then again maybe living with the minimum is good at times. Less clutter less garbage…etc. {*LOL}
<3 s.
I have been looking for good ways to store my jewelry too and I like how you use it as part of the decor. I think that would work for me too if it weren’t for the fact that I am a huge klutz and will probably destroy everything no time. I like the idea of a jewelry chest with compartments…I think Khatu had one of those and it looks SO organized.
Wow beautiful pictures. I’m really bad with organizing – I have those jewellery organizers that have pockets and you hang them in your closet – they are FULL! And I keep on collecting more jewellery! I think it might be time to purge….
I love the idea of displaying jewelry as decor! Esp. your wooden man!
My parents bought me one of those 3.5 foot wood stand-alone jewelry boxes (cabinets?) years ago. It holds my jewelry, and lots of socks too.
It doesn’t look there is that much clutter at all…I love the jewelry tree….very nice. I just put my necklaces/bracelets/earrings in the boxes they came in…that doesn’t help when it gets all tangled….
i love using the little wooden man to hold up bracelets!! and your collection is a beautiful display.
I’m a packrat as well. =0> I bought so many containers to put my jewelry in but they end up everywhere in a muddled mess. Gotta take a leaf out of your book and start using decor as a second use jewelry holder.
Oh Jess, I love your wooden man and your tree to display your jewelry and makes it easy to find. All of my jewelry is organized in boxes and containers, and I’m still struggling to find a system that works.
As you know, I’m a really bad pack rat too…. I haven’t done anything since I last wrote my de-cluttering post
I need to get that done pronto, to improve my chi
too bad I’m so … lazy
I love that jewelry tree and good idea on using the figurine! I actually use 2 wooden tie racks (multiple pegs on a plaque) mounted to the wall for all my necklaces / bracelets. I had previously created one of my own from wood / decorative paper / hooks / paint but after I started my jewelry DIY hobby, my accessories increased exponentially
The UO tree thingy is so pretty! Maybe you could spray paint it a different color? I keep my jewelry in a drawer in boxes. Boring, but with our small apartment, we don’t have dressers or counter space, so it works. I keep my necklaces in separate little bags (some plastic, some fabric, just collected from other things that come in little bags) so they don’t get snagged.
@jenluvzyou: I used to have all my necklaces stuffed in a mini F21 bag and they always got tangled and they started to lose the plating really fast. So I try my best to keep the ones I use all the time on display and the rest in little boxes.
@Cee: I still have to find a place for my belts and scarves! One thing at a time right? Right now, they’re stuff in little bins but it just looks ugly.
@Serenaeveryday: LOL. I only photograph the pretty areas, who really wants to see the mess anyways? =P
@Elle: Compartments sound like a great idea. It’d keep everything separated and that’s always a good thing!
@Curls and Pearls: I try to limit my accessories since I end up accumulating a lot of jewelry that starts to look the same after a while. I need variety, but not that much. =P
@FaithJ: Wow! I wish I had a big compartment to put everything!
@Jarucha: I don’t even know where all the original boxes and bags for these items went so it’s all disorganized for me. LOL. But I try to keep better care of the nicer pieces since most of my everyday jewelry is costume jewelry from F21.
@Kileen: Thanks! I wanted to make it pretty and useful at the same time.
@Banhannas: I totally understand. Before I moved, I’d find jewelry in random places because I didn’t have a centralized location for my accessories so they were scattered everywhere. Now, it’s much easier to manage.
@Grace: I’m with you on de-cluttering. I try to tackle one small section at a time to make it less overwhelming and it’s slowly getting better. =)
@SewPetiteGal: I think it’s great that you have so many pieces that you’ve made, I wish I had the patience to do that, but at the same time, I’d probably have more things than I know what to do with!
@Angeline: Hmmm, I didn’t even think of spray painting it. That’s a great solution. =)
Oooo love organizing accessories…I love all ur pretty accessories
