My standard uniform of choice is jeans, tank, and cardigan. You can never really go wrong with this look and it’s so versatile.
It’s safe, comfortable, and reliable.

Minimal accessories and a neutral color palette is what works when you’re on the go and in a rush. There’s no time to think whether things will match or look fashionable, but with these basics, you can’t go wrong. This isn’t the trendiest outfit I’ve worn, but it works on days where I don’t want to stand out, but I still want to represent myself well.

Since my shopping ban ended, I picked up Gap Petite Curvy jeans and I must say, I LOVE IT!
As great as these pants are, it made me sad because I realize how unflattering my other bootcut jeans fit. So, I am letting go of four pairs of designer jeans that I’ve been holding onto for the past few years. Why have four pairs of unflattering jeans when you can have amazing pair?

Outfit Details: Martin + Osa cardigan – XS, Banana Republic tank – XS, Gap Curvy jeans – 00P, Express belt – XS, Colehaan satchel, Target wedges
Right now, I’m in Los Angeles to claim my steak dinner.
Since I’m here, I’m taking some time to meet up with a couple of friends and go shopping for some new things. I’ll be scoping the boutiques and independent stores to research trends and find some cool new duds. I gave myself a shopping budget of $300 but with the places I plan on going, I might not be able to buy much.
But anyways, I’d love to know your go-to look.

My go to outfit is pretty much your go to outfit but sometimes I like to switch it up with a blazer LOL! I know I’m not very creative
That’s definitely my go-to outfit too (although I have no idea what I used to wear before I started buying cardigans!). When I have a little more time, I like to try to substitute a skirt instead of jeans, but it’s definitely a lot easier to reach for them!
Those Gap jeans look fantastic on you. I agree that one amazing pair is worth much more than four designer ones that don’t fit!
My uniform consists of skinny jeans, a 3/4 sleeve top and flats boots!
My jackets change up a lot though.
That is my standard uniform too! Its just so comfortable and it looks good even if your not trying.

Leggings, graphic t or ribbed plain tank (aka wife beater–usually black), slouchy cardigan, blazer/or hoodie, boots or heels, beanie.
Unless it’s work, then all bets are off. If I feel like crap, it’s trousers and a dress shirt with a belt. If I’m happy, then it’s a waist-cinching belt and a flouncy skirt.

Mae Lu @ thereafterish.!
That is my go-to outfit as well! It’s classic and easy, like you said and you can change the cardigan or tank to whatever color suits your fancy. I was looking at your pictures before I read the text and was thinking that I’m going to ask you where you got those jeans because they look fantastic on you. Coincidentally, I picked up those exact jeans last week! They fit so nicely (esp. @ the waist). Are those dark wash?
My go to “uniform” is trousers, patterend shell topped with a cardigan or blazer. I can only wear jeans on Friday, so trousers seem to fit the bill. I’m thinking maybe I should check out those gap jeans, I’m pretty sure our shapes are very similar and they look great on you! Definitely prefer one great pair to lots of not so greats
I might have to go try those jeans, because I haven’t found any that make me comfortable. And you look fantastic in those!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom’s Closet
My standard uniform is leggings/jeggings (i really don’t like that word), a blazer and cardigan and some shirt….very basic, I’m starting to love over-sized sweaters and shirts.
Definitely my jeggings of late (though hubby hates them), a long cardigan, and a satin-y shell from Ann Taylor (now that I’ve acquired a gazillion of them from reading others’ blogs!). Gorgeous pictures Stylepint!
@Curls and Pearls: I think the basic outfit works well and you don’t need a lot to make it look great. Sometimes, simple things work best!
@PetiteXXS: That’s what I think too…what did I wear before cardigans? Probably jeans + tee and track jacket. LOL.
@Janelle: Jackets make a huge difference and it’s pretty much a new outfit when you change outerwear.
@Neiry: Thanks! I try to keep that effortless look because it makes me feel more comfortable.
@Mae Lu: What great go-to outfits! I gotta branching out and try slouchy cardigans.
I totally just posted my lazy day/bad day outfit on my blog. I called it “Aesthetician Chic.”
@Beartea: They are indeed the dark wash jeans. I prefer the darker colors to make my legs look slimmer. LOL.
@Callandra: Check out the Gap Curvy jeans, they don’t have a waist gap! The other jean styles didn’t fit as well on me. =)
@Melissa: The Gap Curvy pants work on body types that have a larger hip to waist ratio and if the main issue with pants is the waist gap, then this is your style!
@Gizell: I love jeggings/leggings because they’re super comfy…plus the oversized tops makes you feel like you’re in PJs, but not.
@Recovering Shopaholic: The AT shells are so versatile, I’m sure you’d get a lot of wear from them! =)
this is pretty much my go-to look too except i trade out the jeans for a pencil skirt. i have to admit that i could get dressed half asleep in that combo and still look decent, lol.
Love the bag!

Those jeans look great on you and the bag adds to the outfit! I love your outdoor pics!
