San Francisco Mission District, Andalu Restaurant. Brunch.
On a brisk Saturday afternoon, I made my way to the city for a blogger meetup. What initially began as a small gathering, swelled to an intimate party of 30+. The energy was upbeat, relaxed, and informal…conversations were filled with talk about photography, new stores, and blog resources. Egos were checked at the door and everyone mingled like nobody’s business.

With a buffet brunch filled with crispy hash browns, omelette scrambles, and cinnamon donut holes, the food was secondary to getting our fill of local gossip and picking the brains of the authors behind the more influential blogs and websites.
It was great meeting UC Berkeley bloggers and discovering sites like Work It, Berk and BARE magazine for daily updates on local street style and emerging trends.

Not only were there collegiates in attendance, but young professionals like Michelle of FVNCY and Adelle of Fashionista Lab. There was a wide variety of styles, ideas, and perspectives on fashion which shows how fashion has democratized. It’s what people wear everyday and how they style it that makes fashion interesting, dynamic, and constantly evolving.
Fave comment from the event: “You can’t miss a group of fashion/style bloggers…you can tell from a mile away.”

I learned a lot from everyone and I wish I had more time to spend with them all. Like the Women Enough movement which promotes positive body image and self-esteem through media. It was eye-opening to hear stories of what women love about themselves and turning hardships into great achievements. Here’s my little video contribution.

The meetup was such a great experience and I had a blast hosting it. There was raffle with prizes provided by Jenny Dayco, Peggy Li, and Viereck to end the afternoon and the lucky winners took home some beautiful pieces. I wish I took more photos, but I’m sure there are others who have taken plenty of photos as well.
I’ll add the links to their sites as they come in, but for now, I hope you all got a glimpse into the meetup.

It sounds so fun. I wish I was there
I think it’s super cool to meet some of the bloggers in person and learn more about them. Thanks for sharing, Jess. I really enjoyed those photos.

What a fun sounding event! I love Wendy and you both look beautiful in your photos together
I thought you were famous, too!
How many Michelles were in attendance? I only know Michelle E of FVNCY. Wow, Aimee, too! Why can’t we have star-studded blogger meet ups in Detroit?

Mae Lu @ thereafterish.!
LOL. I guess I’m famous…didn’t even think of that! I think there was only one Michelle, but I could be wrong. We really lucked out with bloggers in SF, but we’re losing Wendy cuz she’s moving soon.
I’m so jealous! I wish I could have made it up to SF.
I’m hoping to have future events, so perhaps you can come to those later on in the year. =)
Your photos look a lot cuter than mine – stylized and w/ sweet captions. The event was amazing, and it was nice meeting you, albeit very briefly!
You had wonderful photos and they captured the essence of the event and some great outfits too! =)
Wow! Looks like it was a FANTASTIC event. I am so sad to have missed it! Hopefully I can make it to the next one. Great job, Jess!
