Being back in my hometown not only reminds me how much I’ve grown, but what a large role my family plays in my social responsibilities. There have been a slew of family gatherings recently and I didn’t realize how much I missed this aspect when I was in Los Angeles.
Since it’s Mother’s Day weekend, my mom’s family coordinated a “small” banquet for the twenty of us. The rest couldn’t make it due to little things like high school prom, college finals, and weekend camping.

I don’t usually have a sweet tooth, but I was craving some French macarons a lá Jin Patisserie. Since I’m no longer in LA, Pamplemousse will have to do unless there’s a better recommendation.
When it comes to inspiration, not only do I draw looks and colors from others, but I get ideas from food. The color, the presentation, and the texture created by the chefs are always interesting. I find it easier to discover new combinations from food because if it makes your mouth water, you clearly have a winner!

We all cycle through trends and changing tastes which make curating a balanced wardrobe one of those never ending fashion battles. I’d love to have the least amount of clothes with maximum style to reflect my personality and my aesthetic.
That being said, I truly desire a closet filled with clothes that are functional, versatile, and long-lasting. In the past, I haven’t been very forthcoming about how I exactly propose to do so. Occasionally, I do a closet post (one, two, three, and four) and here’s another one. But now is the time to reveal my master plan to achieve this long-term goal.
