Guest Post: Fly Girls

You can learn a lot about street style by looking at celebrity airport fashion. Most celebrities fly just like regular people — they check in, go through security, and take off their shoes like the rest of us. But one thing that makes them stand out is their style. You don’t see too many celebs wearing sweats while flying! Let’s take a look at three celebrity airport looks that you can easily mimic for less.

Leighton Meester airport style[tortoise reading sunglasses $16.95] [floral scarf $14.95] [flyaway vest $24] [shoulder bucket bag $51.95] [jeans $29.95] [clogs $35.50]

Leighton Meester flaunted her boho-chic style at LAX with a relaxed, denim look. Leighton wore a sleeveless flyaway vest, but made sure to include a cozy floral scarf for chilly cabin temperatures!

Dian Kruger airport style[striped scarf $17.95] [cable knit sweater $76] [rollup pants $34] [loafers $22.80]

Diane Kruger was also spotted at LAX in cozy travel wear. This menswear-meets-English-countryside look is perfect for overnight flights or long days traveling.

Nicole Kidman airport style

[aviator sunglasses $15.26] [white scarf $19.95] [trench coat $39.50] [white dress $72.99] [satchel handbag $54.95] [camel leather flats $24]

Always a class act, Nicole Kidman keeps it dressy at the airport. She layered a dress, trench, and scarf — and carried a lovely retro satchel handbag. It wasn’t too long ago that people wore their Sunday best to fly — and we love Nicole for channeling that class.

What do you wear when you fly? Do you prefer to keep it comfy with sweats? Or do you dress it up like the celebrities?

I always wear a pair of heels or boots, not necessarily to be fashionable. It just makes my bag less heavy so I can fit more in it. My boyfriend and I are going to San Antonio in December and you better bet I will look awesome flying this time!

I do the same thing too, especially if I’m going somewhere cold, I break out the heaviest jacket to take onto the plane so it takes up less space in the suitcase. lol.

Sweats. And layers. Unless it’s a 4 hour or less, then I might entertain the idea of dressing up a bit.

I too, love looking at paparazzi airport pictures. Most celebs dress down from their usual style, which I find suits my casual lifestyle well. Though when I fly, I go even more casual and wear my comfy sweats :)

I usually have layers on and a scarf for when the airplane gets chilly :)

Great post! Looking at ‘airport fashion’ is one of my favorite things ever) Actually, I’m a huge fan of street fashion, so I care about red carpet dresses a lot less than about simple street or airport shots)))
Thank you for this post, love it)

I definitely prefer airport fashion to red carpet fashion since it’s definitely more relatable…how many people really get a chance to wear formal gowns all the time?
