Much Ado About Shoes

October 14, 2011

Last week, I was debating what to do with my large shoe budget.

I have a good variety of shoes and though I don’t have a pair for every situation, I’m ok with it. If I don’t get any new shoes this year, my wallet will be happier and I’ll still survive. Besides, if I really need a certain pair, I can ask around and borrow, especially if I’ll only wear them once or twice.

This week, I received one of the shoes that I was coveting, the Stuart Weitzman pumps. The quality was fantastic but once I put them on, it wasn’t a perfect fit and I sent it back. So I’m still on the hunt to find my perfect pair of black pointy pumps under $200. Let’s see how long I can last without black pumps. Also, I’m not considering Jimmy Choos anymore since I don’t think I can physically part with that much cash right now.

My main concern is having waterproof shoes, which is why I wanted the Vivienne Westwood for Melissa rainboots in the first place. Last year, I just wore my leather boots and they’ve held up pretty well so I think I can do that again. It’s not ideal, but paying $150 for rainboots seems excessive.

So for now, all the money I have saved up will go into savings.

Oh the shoe dilemma. I think I have one every week. Every time my husband comes home and sees new pair of shoes he just “sighs.” I’m sorry to hear that the SW pumps didn’t work out for you. You will find something else for sure!

I’m definitely trying to slow down my horrible shopping habits, so I’m taking my time looking for the pair that works best for me. =)

Have you considered getting Christian Louboutins from the wholesaler sale websites that sell older season genuine pumps from Loubie, Choo and Blahnik?

I googled “Christian Louboutin Sale Shoes” and I got a few good sites that have plenty of Jimmy Choos, Blahniks and of course CL shoes for under $200 each.

Here you go:

I hope this helps. Quite a few of them were even under $100 for the classic pumps. I believe these are NOT knockoffs but surplus of past seasons stock, so they are being sold for cheap. Check the return policy and then go crazy!

The seams on my rainboots are going out. I’ve read that rubber equestrian boots work well, so I think I may go that route. When it starts raining in Houston again. No point spending the money now.

Eeek. Sorry :( :(:( I know how it is to want SHOES but you can’t find the perfect pair. I feel like that with black wide comfy flats that don’t look grandma-ish. I’m on a constant hunt! Let us know of updates?
