A few days ago, I mentioned that I picked up an awesome leather jacket.
I’m a sucker for outerwear, but I don’t buy these items impulsively. As my first and only leather jacket, I had to make sure that it matches my style and the fit had to flatter my frame.

With a mix of leather and suede textures, this jacket drapes wonderfully and provides the right amount of detail and structure so it’s not boxy or shapeless. The sleeves hit where it’s supposed to without any need for alterations!
When zipped, it’s very fitted with barely enough room for one chunky knit.

As the weather continues to cool, I know I’ll be taking this jacket everywhere. It’s my winter equivalent to my Madewell jacket…a versatile, everyday jacket that works for most occasions.
In my head, I want my style to be more rock-n-roll like Balmain or Rick Owens. In reality, I don’t have enough “edge” to pull it off. So I’ll settle for that middle ground where I can still have subtle influences without looking like a fool.

Outfit Details: TOV Holy G leather jacket – 38, Walter tunic – 0, Madewell jeans – 24, thrifted belt, BCBGeneration boots

It’s gorgeous! I love the suede-like front detail…it gives it a really nice amount of interest which makes it more special than just any old leather jacket. I think you’re well on your way to being “edgy”.
Thanks Kelly! I think the mix of materials make it a little different and special. =)
That jacket looks gorgeous on you, I love how it’s going to add an edge to any outfit you wear it with.
Thank you! This season is all about incorporating the “edge” into my outfits…a little style evolution.
I love this jacket on you. Perfection! And I really like the way those brown suede boots look with the black jacket.
It fits so well, I was pleasantly surprised. Plus leather and suede go so well together naturally…I had to add my brown boots. =)
Great jacket!!!
I really love all your shots!!
Thanks Michelle…I’m hoping to wear it a lot this season lol.
