After almost a year of searching, I finally tracked down a pair of black pointy pumps worthy of my closet.
I’ve talked about my shoe dilemma before, my disappointment with a potential option, and now, it’s time to put the issue to rest. Yesterday was the first time this year I paid for a shoe that I am not returning.

I tried several pointy pumps but I didn’t have much luck:
- Banana Republic Garrah pumps – high topline and too much toe cleavage
- Ann Taylor Perfect Cutout pumps – shallow toebox and too much toe cleavage
- Talbots Riri Patent pumps – too high / Talbots Dree Patent pumps – too low
- Ivanka Trump Guardia pumps – lower quality
Two weeks ago, I saw a pair of pointy pumps at Nine West and tried them on. It fit comfortably in size 5.5 with just a hint of toe cleavage. I walked around the store and it felt as if they were made for my feet. I checked the price and it was listed at full retail price…I just couldn’t pull the trigger. So, I left them at the store.

For most of Black Friday, I spent it with my extended family eating a lot of Chinese food and catching up with my cousins who are back from college. As 3PM rolled by, my sister had the itch to run errands and stop by the mall to see the new Forever 21. There wasn’t much that excited me and I casually sauntered into the Nine West since they were having a 30% off sale.
This time around, I checked for the same style and it still wasn’t marked down. However, the Andriana, it’s lower heeled twin was on sale. I tried it on and it was just like the first pair. There was a slight nick in the suede and the SA agreed to take off an additional 10% for the damage, but it would be final sale.

At that point, I had to get the shoe…it matches most of my requirements, it fits well, and the price was within my budget. With all the discounts applied, the final amount was $54. I’m heartily satisfied and with a month left in the year, the hunt is finally over so the rest of my shoe budget ($546) can be redistributed into other areas.
I didn’t need Jimmy Choos or Stuart Weitzmans to satisfy my lust for a black pointy pump, just a little patience, research, and mindfulness.

These are so classy, Jess. I love them! Isn’t it satisfying when you’re on the hunt for something and finally make a purchase?!

Definitely! Knowing what you want is half the battle and then finding it makes it worth all the effort.
Congrats on the shoe!! I know how a shoe search can be, esp. with specific requirements. The shoes look fabulous and look far more expensive than Nine Wests. Can’t wait to see it featured on the blog!! I may have to go check the pair out myself..
Thanks JP! You will definitely see these on the blog soon..they’re too pretty to stay in the box for long.
they look great!

Thank you!
Congrats! I know the search can be challenging, especially if you’re trying to stay within a budget. However, the results are so worthwhile!
