Coachella Weekend 1 Fashion

Each year, I look forward to Coachella. Not because I’m lucky enough to attend the celebrity-packed music festival (I Wish!) — but because of the style photos that flood fashion blogs afterward. Everyone knows that fashion is a close second behind the music at Coachella, so attendees dress to impress.

This is the first year Coachella is spanning two weekends — awesome news for those of us who love to take in the style from home! With weekend one over, outfit photos are rolling in, and I’m loving this year’s trends! Here are three of my favorite looks from Coachella so far, with tips on how you can get the looks for less!

lauren conrad coachella 2012

// high low tank // sandals // shorts

This photo of Lauren Conrad and Lea Michele was snapped at the Lacoste pool party. Although both ladies look fab, I’m really loving Lauren’s outfit here. Her shorts are from Free People, and I think they’re definitely worth the splurge. Lauren pairs the bold shorts with a plain white extreme high-low tank, a straw hat, sunglasses, and some strappy sandals. She looks so trendy, but in her signature, laid back So-Cal way.

Harley Viera Newton coachella 2012

dress // cat flats // trench

While most Coachella attendees channel a free-spirited, 60s-inspired vibe, I love how DJ Harley Viera-Newton went for a ladylike look with round sunglasses, a light pink trench, a white dress, kitty cat flats, and a quilted bag. I’ve been fawning over the Charlote Olympia cat loafers for a while, and I found the really cute lookalikes above! Even though her look is a little more polished than a lot of Coachella fashion, she keeps her hair down in a naturally wavy style.

emma watson coachella 2012

cardigan // necklace // dress

First, I’ve gotta say that I love how Emma’s hair has grown to a chin-length bob. She’s channeling the safari-inspired trend with a tiger-print dress and a floppy hat. I love how she layered her look with a cropped cardigan, and her floppy hat and crossbody bag are perfect for a music festival! I had a hard time finding a tiger-print dress as cute as Emma’s, but to get this look, any animal print will do, including the leopard-print dress I found.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what celebrities wear next weekend! Who has your favorite Coachella look so far?

My hat style is a little more ladylike, but I enjoy the casual summertime hats that are a part of these outfits.

Hmm, yes. Very nice, I do particularly like the shoulder bag, and I would rather use a plain color cardigan. The necklace does complement the whole outfit, in a simple but statement-like way.
